BAFTA-winning The Hollow Crown is a lavish new series of filmed adaptations of four of Shakespeare’s most gripping history plays: Richard II, Henry IV, Parts I and II and Henry V. It was originally commissioned by BBC TWO in 2012 as part of a season based on the Bard’s life and works.
Ben Whishaw won a BAFTA for Best Actor in his portrayal of Richard II and Simon Russell Beale received a Best Supporting Actor award for Henry IV Part II. The series also stars Jeremy Irons as Henry IV and Tom Hiddleston as Henry V.
The Hollow Crown is produced by Neal Street Productions, NBCUniversal, and THIRTEEN.
