BBC Three has commissioned ‘In Deep’, an action comedy forming part of their iPlayer Comedy Feed strand, from multi-award winning indie Big Talk Productions (Rev, Him & Her). In Deep stars Ashley Walters (Top Boy) and Adam Deacon (Kidulthood) as two hapless young police constables who end up deep undercover – kind of by accident. Walters and Deacon play Nathan and Jimmy, two cops languishing together on the bottom rung of the policing ladder. When a very unexpected case falls suddenly into their laps, it’s the chance they’ve been waiting for. A chance to crack the case and make heroes of themselves. All they need to do is break rank and go undercover for just one night. What could go wrong? The cast also features appearances from Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones, Dennis Pennis), Sophie Wu (Fresh Meat) and Andrew Leung (PhoneShop, Dirk Gently). Written by Thomas Eccleshare and Tom Joseph, In Deep was created alongside director Misha Manson-Smith (Pramface, La La Land). It’s produced by Josh Cole and executive produced by Kenton Allen and Luke Alkin. The strand was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three, Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning and Victoria Jaye, Head of TV Content for BBC iPlayer.
