Decimate, a gripping new quiz show from CPL Productions, has been commissioned by Controller BBC Daytime, Damian Kavanagh and Commissioning Editor Pam Cavannagh as a major new addition to the BBC One daytime schedule. The 25×45 series will be recorded in August for broadcast in autumn.

Hosted by actor, singer and comedian Shane Richie, the quiz sees a team of three contestants fighting to maintain a £20,000 Wall of Cash over four rounds.  With every wrong answer their total is ‘Decimated’ (reduced by 10 percent). The question is how much will they hang on to by the end of the show.

CPL Managing Director Danielle Lux said:  “We’re thrilled to be working with the BBC on a brand new quiz show format.  BBC Daytime is in rude health and we’re delighted that Decimate is to be part of such a vibrant schedule.”

Controller BBC Daytime, Damian Kavanagh said: “We are excited to have commissioned this brand new series.  It has huge play along and a great team dynamic that we know our audience have come to love and enjoy and with Shane hosting, it is a great addition to our daytime quiz line up.“

Decimate was commissioned by Controller BBC Daytime, Damian Kavanagh and Commissioning Editor Pam Cavannagh. It will be executive produced by Murray Boland, Danielle Lux, Lynn Sutcliffe and Hugh Rycroft. Jane O’Brien will be the series producer.

The format was created by Hugh Rycroft and Red Arrow will distribute the series worldwide.
